WINGATE, N.C. – The Pfeiffer University men’s cross country team wrapped up its 2009 season with a 17th place at the NCAA II Regional Meet held at Wingate University on Saturday morning. Senior Matt Tyndall led the Falcons with a 77th place finish with a time of 36:30 on the 10k course.
Fellow Conference Carolinas member Queens and Columbus State took the top two team spots and will move onto the NCAA II National Meet. The top two individuals not from Queens and Columbus State also move on. Pardon Ndhlovu from UNC-Pembroke and Fidelis Mutiso from Clayton State advance on time.
Other in-order finishes for the Falcons were Will Oliver (36:42/82nd), Josh Roberts (36:47/85th), Daniel Barnhardt (38:18/108th), Zack Allen (38:50/118th), Zach Gray (39:38/128th), and Grady Gaston (43:12/143rd).
Oscar Ogwaro from Queens and Meshack Koyiaki and Columbus State took home individual medalist honors crossing the line at 31:14. A total of 159 runners competed in the regional event.
