MISENHEIMER, N.C. – In conjunction with the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), Pfeiffer University will participate in the 2010 Pink Zone initiative to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research. All proceeds will go to the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund. Pfeiffer will host the Pink Zone night on Saturday, February 20th as the Lady Falcons take on the Lady Knights of St. Andrews Presbyterian College at 5:30 p.m.
During last year’s awareness rally, participating schools/teams were able to raise over $732,000 for breast cancer research. To donate on behalf of Pfeiffer, contact head coach Jill Thomas. The WBCA Pink Zone initiative is a global, unified effort for the WBCA nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond.
Proceeds will benefit the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund, a 501 c(3) charitable organization committed to being a part of finding an answer in the fight against women’s cancer through raising money for scientific research, assisting the underserved and unifying people for a common cause.
