MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Pfeiffer University’s women’s golf team finished ninth out of 14 teams at the 2010 Dana Rader Intercollegiate, hosted by Pfeiffer, at the Ballantyne Golf Resort in Charlotte. Newberry won the two-day event with a team total of 624 on the 5,830 yard, par 72 layout by 26 shots over runners-up UNC-Pembroke. Anderson’s Sophie Dembroski took home medalist honors with rounds of 78 and 70.
Pfeiffer finished just behind Queens with a team total of 693. Alison Cowles led the Lady Falcons with a T-24 finish, with back-to-back 84’s. Jackie McMenimon concluded two shots back at 170 (89/81) while Chelsea Demers stopped at 175 (91/84).
Rene Kelly carded a two-day total of 180 (86/94) while Elizabeth Johnson rounded out Pfeiffer’s scoring with a tournament finish of 185 (91/94). The Lady Falcons will have almost three weeks of practice time before participating in the Ralph Hargett Intercollegiate March 29-30.
