MEN'S VOLLEYBALL TEAM AND LIBERO MARK HESS FINISH YEAR AS #1 IN DIGS PER GAME

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Pfeiffer University finished the 2010 inaugural season in men’s volleyball as the division one statistical champion in digs per game. Individually, freshman libero Mark Hess finished as the statistical champ in the same category. NCAA men’s volleyball has only division one and division three. Pfeiffer competed against top schools like Penn State, Stanford and Southern California in these categories.

As a team, the Falcons led the nation with 12.11 digs per game, beating out conference foe Lees-McRae who finished second at 11.95. Limestone rounded out three Conference Carolinas teams in the top-10 finishing ninth. Hess, a 5’9’’ freshman from Lebanon, PA, concluded the year with 3.93 digs per game, 0.30 digs per game better than Trent Burns of Grand Canyon at 3.61.

Pfeiffer will look to once again make a splash on the national scene when their 2011 campaign begins in mid-January.
