MEN'S GOLF CAPTURES SECOND-STRAIGHT TOURNAMENT TITLE WITH WIN AT TROJAN FALL CLASSIC

PETERSBURG, V.A. – Jonathan Miles shot an even par 144 leading Pfeiffer University to a first place finish at the 2010 Trojan Fall Classic hosted by Virginia State at the par-72, 6,607-yard Dogwood Trace Golf Club. The Falcons, standing second after day one, fired a 299 to overtake Fayetteville State by three to win the tournament title.

Miles placed himself on the all-tournament team after a one-under 71 in the first round following that up with a one-over 73 on Tuesday. Luiz Jacintho followed Miles with a 153 (80/73) two shots ahead of Thomas Sennett. Sennett carded a consistent 77 and 78 in the two-day event.

J.D. Lamm and Ben Tobey concluded Pfeiffer’s tournament scores with a 155 and 157. Lamm improved three shots in the second round after his opening circuit of 79 as did Tobey finishing three better after a first-round 80.

Pfeiffer will resume their 2010-2011 in February as their fall schedule is now complete.
