MISENHEIMER, N.C. Ė Pfeiffer University menís and womenís tennis wrapped up its Conference Carolinas weekend each receiving a 6-3 loss at the hands of Mount Olive on Sunday afternoon. The Lady Falcons dug themselves an early hole dropping all three doubles points falling to 5-6 overall, 2-2 in league. For the men, an early point in doubles didnít provide any singles momentum as the Falcons dip to 4-2, 1-1.
Once Pfeiffer got into singles play on the womenís side, the top three spots provided points as Alena Krutkina brought in the first point with a 6-4, 6-4 win at the number one spot. Catie Thomas and Cari Hopson then followed with three-set victories in the second and third positions. Each dropped their first set 6-4, before rallying in the final pair of sets. Thomas then rolled 6-3, 6-2 while Hopson went two and two.
For the men, Philip Lawson and Johan de Wit tallied the lone doubles point with an 8-2 win at #1. In singles action, it was Lawson and de Wit again providing the points with easy straight-set victories. Lawson cruised love and one while de Wit notched a 6-1, 6-1 win.
