SPRINGFIELD, M.A. – Pfeiffer University senior Chris Woods (Thomasville, NC) wrapped up his collegiate career by being named the East All-Stars Most Outstanding Player in the NABC’s 2011 Reese’s Division II College All-Star Game on Friday night. The East fell to the West All-Stars 96-91 despite Woods’ team-high 19 points and 10 rebounds, posting the only double-double in the contest.
Woods went 9-of-15 from the field in 23 minutes of action draining a free throw attempt. Woods pulled down his 10 boards adding an assist and block. Darius Adams, from Indianapolis, led the West All-Stars with 22 points and eight rebounds on 10-of-16 shooting. Division two player of the year Parrish West from Alaska-Fairbanks followed Adams scoring 11.
The All-Star Game participants were selected by the NABC playing the contest during the Elite Eight tournament held at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts.
