BELMONT, N.C. Ė Pfeiffer University tennis swept a pair of matches at league-rival Belmont Abbey on Monday afternoon. The women scored a 7-2 victory while the men shutout the Crusaders 9-0. The Lady Falcons move to 9-8 overall, 5-2 in league play while the Falcon men advance to 6-6, 2-3.
The lone points for Belmont Abbey came at #3 doubles and #6 singles as Pfeiffer only had five players competing on the road. The Lady Falcons dropped just six games all afternoon long between doubles and singles play.
On the menís side, Pfeiffer rolled comfortably as well dropping just five games in each doubles and singles action. Like the ladies, the men had three matches go in straight-sets 6-0, 6-0.
The men head out on the road again Tuesday making up an earlier rainout at Erskine while the women, along with the men, wrap up 2011 regular season play on Sunday hosting Lees-McRae.
