CARSON-NEWMAN KEEPER STIFLES WOMEN'S SOCCER IN 3-0 SHUTOUT LOSS IN TENNESSEE

JEFFERSON CITY, T.N. - Carson-Newman keeper Sarah Tompkins turned away all 14 shots on goal fired by Pfeiffer University en route to a 3-0 shutout on Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Eagles improve to 4-8-1 overall while the Lady Falcons, who took 18 shots total, drop to 6-8-1 on the year.

Alyssa Wombwell led the Lady Falcons with six shots on the day, five on goal, as eight different players took shots with none being able to find the back of the net.

Carson-Newman jumped on the board early just 3:36 in as Bianca Hall scored right off of a corner kick to the far post. The Lady Eagles would hold that advantage add the half before adding two more for insurance in the second. Maleya Garrison (50') and Trenna Howell (67') provided the breathing room for the Lady Eagles.

Pfeiffer returns to Conference Carolinas action on Saturday with a crucial road matchup at Erskine. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. in Due West.
