SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Led by a match-high 17 kills from Milana Mervosh and .444 hitting percentage with 11 kills by Kelly Lancellot, Pfeiffer University registered a 3-1 (25-21, 22-25, 25-18, 25-8) victory at Converse College in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball action on Friday night. The win pushes the Lady Falcons to 9-11 overall, 6-7 in league play, while the Valkyries drop to 3-21, 1-13.
Mervosh and Lancellot were two of three in double-figure kills with Kim Amerell joining in at 10. Cate Glendenning averaged over 10 assists per set with 42 total on the night while the defense stood tall. Jordan O'Bryant popped up 16 digs while Colleen Wands and Kaci Markham each had 15. Pfeiffer also came up with 10 total blocks led by Kelsey Blauser's three solo and three block assists.
Val Thoms paced Converse with 15 kills hitting .371 while Kandace Griffin led with 20 assists. Aubrey Crosby was one of three Valkyries with double-digit digs popping up 18.
Pfeiffer hit .237 in the four-set match win hitting .333 in the 25-8 set four romp.
The Lady Falcons continue their weekend road trip in South Carolina heading to Erskine for a 2:00 p.m. matchup with the Flying Fleet.
