WINTER PARK, F.L. - The offense for the Pfeiffer University women's lacrosse team didn't show up for the first leg of the spring break trip to Florida as 5th-ranked Rollins College scored a 20-9 romp on Monday night. The Tars out-shot the Lady Falcons 55-18 improving to a perfect 7-0 on the year while the 14th-ranked Black and Gold falls to 3-3.
Pfeiffer managed just two goals in the first 27-plus minutes of the first half scored by Sarah Daly and Shannon Bonnel. Britton Muir and Kristina Anderson would each scored in the final 100 seconds of the half while Anderson tallied hers with just one tick left.
Bonnel would hit again just over six minutes into the second half before Rollins went on a 5-0 run bolting out to a 16-5 lead and a running clock. Anderson would eventually hit again for the Lady Falcons while Rachel Hebberd, Liz Melesh and Kristi Korn would each scored in a three-goal stretch for the game's final goals.
Pfeiffer will return to action on Wednesday traveling over to St. Leo for a noon matchup with the Lions.
