BASEBALL RALLIES FOR THREE IN THE NINTH TO SCORE 8-6 WIN AT BREVARD

BREVARD, N.C. - Trailing 6-5 headed to the top of the ninth, Pfeiffer University rallied for three runs in their last at-bat to grab an 8-6 victory at Brevard College on Wednesday afternoon. The Falcons move to 14-10 overall with the win while the Tornados fall to 14-12.

Jon Gray started the rally with a one-out single in the ninth. With two outs and a bit of luck, Dalton Lindley picked up a RBI-single to right, moving to third on a fielding error by the right fielder. Cole McGraw would immediately follow with an infield single to short to score Lindley with the go-ahead run. Insurance in the form of a Matt Wade single would plate McGraw with a single back up the box.

Gray would briefly tie it in the fifth on a two-out solo homer to center before Brevard would score three in their half of the fifth. The Falcons would use a botched picked off attempt and fielder's choice by Jacob Yates to get within one after six.

Adam Sedberry, Tyler Summers and Craig Bolton would allow just three hits over the final four frames with Bolton saving his sixth of the season allowing to Summers to move to 2-0. Gray and Wade each collected three hits in the win.

Pfeiffer will now return home on Friday and Saturday to host North Greenville in Conference Carolinas play. Live stats will be available for all three games at http://www.gofalconsports.com.
