MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Pfeiffer University men's volleyball claimed at-least a share of the 2012 Conference Carolinas regular season title with a 3-1 (25-21, 25-23, 23-25, 25-16) victory over Lees-McRae College on Saturday afternoon. The victory assures the Falcons of at-least one home game in the 2012 tournament improving to 18-6 overall, 8-1 in league play while the Bobcats fall to 9-8, 4-4.
Quentin Moore (Richmond, VA) and Caleb Brophy (Mission Viejo, CA) each led the Falcons with 16 kills on the day. Brophy hit .400 in the four-set win while David Frazee (West Palm Beach, FL) with 9-for-15 in the kill department hitting .600. David Specian (Loxahatchee, FL) put up 43 assists in the win while leading in the dig category with Moore concluding at nine. Pfeiffer hit .462 in set four to finish off the Bobcats. Jose Ribas (Guaynabo, PUERTO RICO) would lead Lees-McRae and all hitters with 18 kills.
The Falcons now needs a loss by Limestone or a win against Barton on April 11th to claim the outright regular season title, which would be the first for men's volleyball and first for Pfeiffer since 2008.
