WOMEN'S TENNIS IMPROVES TOURNAMENT CHANCES WITH 8-1 ROAD WIN AT KING; MEN SWEPT BY TORNADO 9-0

BRISTOL, T.N. - The Pfeiffer University women's tennis team scored an 8-1 victory at King College on Friday morning while the Falcon men were swept 9-0 by the host Tornado. Pfeiffer's ladies improve to 8-11 overall, 4-6 in league play while the men drop to 5-12, 2-6.

The Lady Falcons won both of their doubles matches played while winning at #3 by default. Alena Krutkina/Taylor Lindsay cruised 8-0 at #1 while Chelsi Haefele/Briana Oliver came up victorious 8-5.

In singles, Krutkina won the match at #1 after her opponent retired after one set. Lindsay won in two tight sets 6-4, 7-5 while Oliver comfortably rolled 6-0, 6-1. Haefele would surrender the lone Tornado point falling 10-8 in a third-set. Pfeiffer won matches five and six by default.

On the men's side, Pfeiffer was in contention in doubles dropping 8-5, 8-4 and 8-4 decisions at one, two and three before Luis Villalta and Orlando Castillo had the best singles matches each dropping third sets.
