RODRIGUEZ'S FIRST HALF GOAL PROPELS WOMEN'S SOCCER TO 1-0 SHUTOUT WIN AT BREVARD

BREVARD, N.C. - Kayla Rodriguez's goal in the 39th minute was all Pfeiffer University needed in a 1-0 shutout victory at Brevard College on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Falcons move to 7-6-2 overall with the win while sending the Tornados down to 1-13-2.

Just before the half in the 39th minute, Rodriguez would dribble just outside the box and fire a shot top right corner to find the back of the net. Sarah Yates would have a shot at insurance later in the 73rd minute of play but blasted her shot just off the crossbar.

Pfeiffer held a commanding 16-7 advantage in shots with six on goal. The Lady Falcons would limit Brevard to just one shot on goal with keeper Bianca Moeller making that save.

The Lady Falcons will now finish the 2012 regular season with a pair of Conference Carolinas matches beginning with the home finale on Tuesday afternoon. Pfeiffer will host Converse at 3:00 p.m. with live stats being available through http://www.gofalconsports.com.
