RAMIREZ AND SANCLEMENTE GOALS GIVE MEN'S SOCCER 2-1 SEASON-ENDING VICTORY AT BELMONT ABBEY

BELMONT, N.C. - A pair of first half goals would be just enough as Pfeiffer University avoided a winless season scoring a 2-1 victory over Belmont Abbey in Conference Carolinas men's soccer action on Saturday afternoon. The victory helps the Falcons end 2012 at 1-15-2 overall, 1-8-1 in league play while the Crusaders fall to 6-9, 4-6.

Aldo Ramirez started scoring in the 11th minute of play as Corey Davis delivered a pass to the top of Ramirez's head finding the back of the net for a 1-0 lead. After the Crusaders tied it up just three-plus minutes later, Jamie Sanclemente would put home the eventual game-winner with 1:28 to play before the break. Chandler Ligas would assist on Sanclemente's game-winner.

Pfeiffer found its victory despite being outshot 24-7 in the match. Cristian Padilla would make six saves in net for the Falcons.
