COX'S GAME-HIGH 24 & RHONEY'S CLUTCH SHOOTING DOWN THE STRETCH HELP WOMEN'S BASKETBALL OPEN 2012-2013 WITH THRILLING 85-77 DOUBLE OT WIN AT ANDERSON

ANDERSON, S.C. - Pfeiffer University's Brittany Cox would score a game-high 24 points, including a crucial three in the final minutes of regulation, as the Lady Falcons scored a wild 85-77 double overtime victory at Anderson in the 2012-2013 season opener.

The Lady Falcons would start to erase an 11-point deficit with 6:36 to play as Cox hit back-to-back triples while Kellie Rhoney followed suit trimming the Trojan lead down to 54-52. After a quick three from Anderson's Sierra Simpson, a pair of Rhoney free throws and triple again from Cox tied the contest up at 57-57 sending the game into overtime.

Anderson would rally in the first extra session to force a second as an Amanda Parris three and Simpson triple with two seconds left squared the contest at 70 heading into a second five minute period.

After each team traded early baskets, another Rhoney three put the Lady Falcons up for good before adding a final triple and pair of free throws in the final minute of play.

Behind Cox's 24, Jodie Lemons followed with 19 points and 11 rebounds recording the first double-double of the season. Christina Harvey added 16 while Rhoney concluded with 15. Parris led the Trojans with 23 points on the day as one of four in double figures with Breonda Shannon scoring 11 with 20 boards.
