SALISBURY, N.C. - The Pfeiffer University men's golf team improve 19 strokes from round one to round two finishing 14th at the 2013 Richard Rendleman Invitational hosted by Catawba College at the Salisbury Country Club. Tyson Louth and David Weinberger would each lead the Falcons with a two-day score of 147.
Weinberger's 75 narrowly beat out Louth's 76 in round one before the tables turned in round two as Louth shot 71 to Weinberger's 72. JD Lamm would improve seven shots on Tuesday to finish at 157 while Chad Nicholson concluded three back at 160 after a final round 78. Ben Tobey, playing as an individual, would also fire a final round 78 to conclude at 162 while Ryan Franklin wrapped up team scoring at 169.
Belmont Abbey won the 17-team event with a team total of 583 finishing seven shots ahead of USC Aiken. Adam Hedges of the Crusaders took medalist with rounds of 74 and 67.
Pfeiffer will get back to action in two weeks traveling to the Old Sycamore Invitational hosted by Wingate University.
