BRISTOL, T.N. - Host King College used a fast start in game one followed by a comeback win in game two to sweep Pfeiffer University in Conference Carolinas softball action on Sunday afternoon. The Tornado improve to 9-14 overall, 4-0 in league play after Sunday while the Lady Falcons drop to 7-11, 0-2.
A three-run triple in a four-run first got King off to their quick start while a two-run double in the second capped off a three-run frame. Pfeiffer would manage just three hits in game one, two by Celia Dew and the other a double off the bat of Sam Jarmusch.
In game two, Pfeiffer took a 1-0 lead on a two-out single to center by Sadie Saine. Saine's hit would bring in Lindsey Russell who singled earlier in the frame. King again came back to score two in the fourth using a Lady Falcon error before adding insurance in the fifth. Pfeiffer picked up six hits in game two, two by Hannah Jackson.
The Lady Falcons are right back to action on Monday hosting Barton before welcoming Erskine and Coker later in the week.
