OLIVER SECURES MATCH-WINNING POINT AS LADY FALCON TENNIS WINS NINTH-STRAIGHT MATCH; FALCON MEN FALL TO #50 MOUNT OLIVE

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The Pfeiffer University women's tennis won their ninth-straight match with a 5-4 victory at Mount Olive College on Sunday afternoon. The Pfeiffer men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to #50 Mount Olive. The Lady Falcons improve to 9-3 overall and remain unbeaten in league play at 5-0 while the Mount Olive ladies drop to 5-4, 2-3. On the men's side, the Trojans improve to 8-0 overall, 4-0 in league play while the Falcons fall to 8-4, 3-2.

After Pfeiffer took a 2-1 lead after doubles, Briana Oliver would again come up clutch for the Lady Falcons securing the winning point at #5 singles with a 6-3, 6-2 win. Oliver was down 2-1 in set two before rallying for the final five games picking up the win.

For the men, Mount Olive swept through all three doubles matches and five of the six singles match cruising to the 8-1 win. Pfeiffer's lone point came at #1 singles as Loic Minery scored a 6-4, 6-1 win in straight-sets.

Both teams will be back in action on Tuesday hosting Limestone in Conference Carolinas action at 3:00 p.m.
