MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Pfeiffer men’s basketball team (2-6, 0-2 CC) dropped its Conference Carolinas home opener to Limestone by a final score of 83-69 on Saturday evening. The contest marked the first game since the season opener that the Falcons failed to score at least 80 points. Mike Smith kept his streak of 20-plus point performances in tact with a 22 point effort, his seventh straight game over 20. P.J. Foster added 22 on Limestone and knocked down six three pointers.
Limestone shot 42.6 percent from the field and committed only six turnovers on the night. The Saints knocked down 11 shots from long range and had a 31-22 advantage in points in the paint.
The Falcons struggled offensively in the first half, converting on 33.3 percent of their shots from the field. They rebounded with a 13-for-26 performance in the final 20 minutes. Smith went 8-of-18 from the field hit three triples. David McNair finished with eight points and 11 rebounds and AJ Clark finished with 18 points, three rebounds and three assists.
Assad Woods added 20 points for Limestone and Josh Odem had 19. Shaq Dance had 13 points, five rebound, and six assists.
The Falcons return to action on Tuesday night when they host Barber Scotia at 7:30 p.m.
