WOMEN'S TENNIS REMAINS UNDEFEATED


TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The Pfeiffer women’s tennis team (5-0, 1-0 CC) continues their impressive start as they defeat North Greenville (0-8, 0-1 CC) by a score of 8-1.

The Falcons soared through the doubles competition as the team of Taylor Lindsay and Valeria Mendoza took care of business in the number one position by winning 8-6.  Olivia Nelms and Hannah Watson competed in the number two position and earned another point for the Falcons as they won by a score of 8-2.  Mylene Petitpas and Amanda Long finished off North Greenville in doubles by winning 8-5 from the number three position.

The match proved to be all Pfeiffer as they won 5-1 in singles competition.  Nelms started off winning in the number one spot by scores of 6-2, 6-1.  Lindsay completed the match clinching point by winning the number two slot in straight sets by scores of 6-1, 6-2.

With the match already sealed, Pfeiffer won the next three out of four games as Mendoza, Watson, and Briana Oliver defeated their opponents in straight sets.

North Greenville’s lone point came in the number five singles competition as Christina Kiessling defeated Petitpas in three hard fought sets by scores of 2-6, 6-1, 10-6.

Pfeiffer returns to action next Thursday, Feb. 27 as they host Brevard.  The match is set to start at 2:00 p.m.
