HICKORY, N.C. - The Pfeiffer men's tennis team made it just about as close as they could on Thursday, picking up an impressive road win at Lenoir-Rhyne, 5-4. With the win the Falcons improve to 7-2 overall this season and extend their current win streak to three. The loss drops Lenoir-Rhyne to 4-8.
The Falcons went 4-2 in singles competition, picking up victories from sophomore Loic Minery, freshman Axel Woerner, junior Stephen Miller, and senior Bret Williams. With the wins, Minery improves his season singles record to 8-1, Woerner jumps to 6-2 overall, and Miller who's now won five straight matches, improves to 7-2.
In doubles play Pfeiffer went 1-2, with their only win coming from the duo of Minery and junior Sebastian Wernecke. The win brings the pair's doubles record to 7-1 on the season.
The Falcons return to action on March 15th when they welcome conference foe Lees-McRae to Misenheimer. Match time is set for 2:00 p.m.
