HIGH POINT, NC – The Pfeiffer men’s and women’s tennis team swept the weekly Conference Carolina Player of the Week awards. Val Mendoza won on the women’s side and Loic Minery took home the men’s award.
Pfeiffer University’s Val Mendoza has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas Women’s Tennis Player of the Week during week six of the 2013 - 2014 tennis season. Val Mendoza led Pfeiffer to a 10-0 mark on the season as she went 2-0 in singles play and 2-0 in doubles competition this week. Mendoza scored victories in second and third singles over Lenoir Rhyne and Lees-McRae respectively. She also recorded two victories in first doubles play as Pfeiffer has its best start in program history.
Pfeiffer University’s Loic Minery has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas Men’s Tennis Player of the Week. Minery led the Pfeiffer men's tennis team to a 3-0 week as he didn't drop a single set all week. In first singles, Minery won each of his three matchups and also went 3-0 in first doubles competition. For the year, Minery is 9-1 in singles play and 8-1 in doubles action.
Pfeiffer returns to action today as they host King in Conference Carolinas action.
