| Baseball Loses To Lander 15-9 |

| Greenwood, SC---Pfeiffer lost to Lander 15-9 in non-conference baseball action Friday afternoon. Lander improves to 2-2, while Pfeiffer drops to 3-3. The two teams will play another single game at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10. Lander jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Pfeiffer’s Emmanuel Turner tied it with a two-run double into the left-center field gap in the top of the second. Lander regained the lead in the bottom of the second on two RBI-singles to lead 4-2. The Falcons tied the game again in the top of the third on Justin Ridenhour’s RBI single and Turner’s run-scoring double. Lander scored five runs in the fifth inning to break a 4-4 tie and go on to a 9-4 lead. Lander added six runs in the sixth inning to grab a lead of 15-4. Pfeiffer fought back with 5 runs in the ninth but it wasn't enough as they fell 15-9. Nick Fogleman (0-2) suffered the loss as he struck out three, walked three and allowed six runs (four earned) on nine hits in 4.1 innings pitched. Ridenhour went 2-for-4 with one double, two runs scored and two RBI and Turner went 2-for-4 with one double and three RBI. |
