Baseball Loses to Lenoir-Rhyne

Hickory, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne College Baseball Team (20-3) won 5-1 over Pfeiffer University (12-9) Tuesday afternoon at Bears Field.

Jordan Ackley gave the Bears a 1-0 advantage with an RBI double in the first inning and back-to-back run-scoring hits in the third frame from junior outfielder Mark Drucker and freshman outfielder Evan Taylor made it 3-0 after three innings.

Pfeiffer got a run back in the fifth when Ryan Harju singled home Kyle Pugh.

The Bears got two more in the eighth to build their final 5-1 advantage.

Nick Fogleman took the loss for Pfeiffer giving up three runs in six innings.

The Falcons travel to Carson-Newman for a 2:30 pm game on Wednesday.
