GOLDSBORO, N.C. – The 2014 Trojan Invitational came to a conclusion today at Walnut Creek Country Club. Pfeiffer finished the tournament in fifth place as they shot a 33 over par 609.
Limestone finished atop the team leaderboard as they turned in a team score of four over par 580.
Individually, Matthew Reid of Belmont Abbey finished first with a score of seven under par 137.
Pfeiffer was paced by David Weinberger who posted a score of eight over par 152. Weinberger was coming off his career best tournament finish where he tied for 16th. He finished tied for 17th in the Trojan Invitational as he carries his strong performance into the conference tournament April 12.
C.J. Dreyfuss turned in a career performance as he finished tied for 17th as well with a score of eight over par.
Nathan Bull also turned in a strong performance, as he placed tied for 23rd with a score of nine over par 153.
Though the tournament was a co-ed tournament, Pfeiffer only sent three female golfers to compete in the women’s individual tournament.
Stefania Valgeirsdottir paced the way for the Falcons on the women’s side as she finished in lone position of eighth place. This was Valgeirsdottir’s best finish in her career as she turned in a score of 10 over par 154.
The Falcons look to carry the strong individual play, as they will be competing in the first round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament on Saturday, April 12.
