SPARTANBURG, SC - The Pfeiffer women's tennis team (16-1, 8-1 CC) easily dispatched of Converse (4-14) by a 9-0 final score on Tuesday afternoon. The win wraps up the Conference Carolinas portion of the schedule for the team, who now have their sights set on a post-season title.
In doubles competition, Pfeiffer's top pair of Taylor Lindsay and Valeria Mendoza dominated the Valkaryies by a final of 8-3. The second doubles group of Hannah Watson and Olivia Nelms also won 8-3, while the third doubles team of Mylene Petitpas and Amanda Long cruised to an 8-1 victory.
Pfeiffer swept through singles play with little competition. Nelms and Lindsay won by identical scores of 6-2 and 6-1. In third doubles, Valeria Mendoza swept Claudia Gunn 6-0 and 6-0. Petitpas and Briana Oliver also won 6-0 and 6-0 in fifth and sixth singles respectively. Watson took care of Klaire Rouse 6-0 and 6-1 in fourth singles.
Pfeiffer will take on Southern Wesleyan on Saturday at 1 p.m. in their final road match of the regular season.
