MISENHEIMER, NC – Pfeiffer Athletic Director/Vice President for Athletics Bob Reasso has announced the promotion of Robyn Jones to the position of Assistant Athletic Director/Senior Women’s Administrator, effective immediately. Jones had previously served as the assistant women’s soccer coach and will continue in the role.
“We are delighted for the opportunity to elevate Robyn to this position,” said Reasso. “She has experience at the Division I, II and III levels in college athletics and is an elite athlete with a professional soccer background. Our whole athletic department, especially our female athletes, will reap the benefits of her experience and expertise.”
Jones spent her collegiate career as a goalkeeper, starting her career at Rutgers, and has played professionally for the Charlotte Lady Eagles for the past two seasons. Robyn also spent two seasons playing in the W-League for the New Jersey Wildcats and was named Eastern Conference Goalkeeper of the Year in 2007.
After her scholastic career, Jones began coaching at Franklin & Marshall University in Lancaster, PA. After two years as the Head Goalkeeper Trainer for the Next Level Soccer Academy in Pennington, NJ, Jones was named the Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach/Goalkeeper Coach for The College of New Jersey. During her three years on the sidelines, TCNJ made three straight Division III NCAA tournament appearances, once to the Sweet 16 and once to the Final Four.
Jones had a concentration in women’s studies in college, which will help her as she serves as a mentor to the female athletes at Pfeiffer.
“I am really excited to further my role at Pfeiffer,” said Jones. “I look forward to continuing my coaching job, while being more involved in the administrative side of the athletic department.”
