Falcons Defeat Lions 6-1

Misenheimer, NC---Zach Strickland pitched eight shutout innings to lead Pfeiffer to a 6-1 win over Mars Hill Thursday afternoon in non-conference baseball action. Zack Pou went 3-3 with 2 RBI's to lead Peiffer at the plate. The Falcons improve to 6-3 on the season.

Pfeiffer scored in the first when Eric Shoemaker singled in Zack Pou to gain a quick 1-0 lead.

The Falcons grabbed two more in the third. Bryan Braxton knocked in Josh Strickland and Zack Pou scored on a Will Davis double play as Pfeiffer went up 3-0.

That was all Zack Strickland needed as he totally shut down the Lions. In 8 innings he gave up only three hits and one walk while striking out six to pick up the win.

Pfeiffer added another run in the fifth and two more in the sixth to build their lead to 6-0.

Mars Hill picked up an unearned run in the ninth.

Pfeiffer will host conference foe Coker this weekend. A double-header will be played Saturday starting at noon. A single game will be played Sunday at 1:00 pm.
