| Falcons Lose To #14 Tusculum |

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – The 14th-ranked Tusculum College women's soccer team posted a 2-0 victory over Pfeiffer University Wednesday evening at Pioneer Field. The Falcons are now 1-4 on the season while Tusculum improves to 4-2. It was an even game except for a five minute period in he first half where Tusculum scored the only two goals of the game. Danielle Tanner headed the ball into the net in the 15th minute with a high pass from Nicole Ferris for the first goal. Kelly Barron scored her first goal of the season on an assist by Courtney Turner at 19:46. Pfeiffer controlled play in the second half but could not manage to score. At one point it looked like the Falcons had scored but Jessica Moulton's shot was ruled to not have completely crossed the goal line. The Falcons out-shot Tusculum 8-5 in the second half. Tusculum out-shot Pfeiffer by a 14-8 margin, for the game, as Hadjopoulos recorded five saves and Suzie Hinman had seven. Coach Denton said, "We outplayed them the scond half but we got to find a way to put the ball in the net. Our defense played great again and Suzie Hinman was excellent in goal. Angela Reale really played well. Our main goal for the season is winning the conference championship and we are looking forward to our first conference game Saturday." Pfeiffer travels to Limestone Saturday for a 2:00 pm game. |
