| Falcons Fly Past Knights 4-2 |

Misenheimer, NC---The Pfeiffer women's soccer team picked up their second straight conference victory with a 4-2 win over St. Andrews Presbyterian Thursday afternoon. The Falcons exploded for 4 goals and ran their record to 3-5 overall and 2-0 in the conference. The Knights are now 0-4 overal and 0-2 in the conference. Angela Reale got the Falcons off to a good start with the first goal of her career in the 20th minute off a pass from Megan Blevins. In the 36th minute the Falcons doubled their lead to 2-0. Jessica Moulton's corner kick found Megan Reeves in the middle of the box and Reeves headed it in. St. Andrews scored less then two minutes later when Brittany Forrest converted a penalty kick. At halftime the Falcons led 2-1. Reeves scored her second goal in the 58th minute. Kirsten Bartsch sent a cross to Reeves who beat the Knight goalie to give Pfeiffer a 3-1 lead. With two minutes to go Kerrie Brown scored on a free kick from 20 yards out to cut the Falcon lead to 3-2. Bartsch had a breakaway in the final 30 seconds and was brought down in the box for a penalty kick. Stephanie Sexton stepped up and drilled one past the keeper to make the final 4-2 Pfeiffer. Pfeiffer travels to Converse Saturday for a 4:00 pm conference game. |
