Belmont, NC-- The Pfeiffer softball team swept a Conference Carolinas doubleheader with Belmont Abbey this afternoon, winning 5-4 in the opener and 10-1 in five innings in game two. The Falcons are now 24-21 overall and 10-8 in Conference Carolinas, while Belmont Abbey falls to 10-33 overall and 4-14 in Conference Carolinas. Senior Dacia Ijames earned the win, allowing four runs on 11 hits in a complete game effort. She struck out five.

In the second game, Pfeiffer scored one in the second and four more in the third to open a 5-0 lead, and added five more in the fifth, getting a bases-loaded single by Hannah Clark that drove in all three runs. Freshman Allison Braswell earned the win after surrendering one unearned run on three hits while striking out five. Pfeiffer returns to action on Monday as they host Barton College at 2:00.
