Falcons Sweep Royals 3-0

The Pfeiffer volleyball team defeated Queens 3-0 (30-27,30-24,30-24) in Conference Carolinas action Tuesday evening.

Game one was a close battle with strong play by both teams. Queens (2-25 overall/1-13 conference) started strong by taking the lead 7-4 and remained consistent for the entire game. The game came down to the last few points when Pfeiffer(14-8 overall/8-4 conference) pulled away with the win.

The Falcons pulled ahead in game two by a score of 6-13. The Royals evened the Falcon lead at 17 with strong serving from Keatin McKenzie. The Falcons opened the lead again with service from Petra Ljubicic for points 23, 24 and 25. Sara Burt put the Royals within two by holding serve from 20-23, but the team could not finish the Falcons off.

Game three was closely matched again, but Pfeiffer was able to pull out the win.

Pfeiffer will host Belmont-Abbey this Friday at 7:00 pm.
