Misenheimer, NC---Pfeiffer continued their strong play this weekend with a sweep of Mount Olive 3-0 (30-24,30-19,30-16) Sunday afternoon in conference volleyball action. The Falcons improve to 12-7 overall and 6-3 in th conference. Mt. Olive falls to 10-9 overall and 6-2 in the conference. Mount Olive got out to an 8-4 lead but the Falcons came right back and used an 8-1 run to take a 15-11 advantage. Pfeiffer stretched their lead to 25-16 and went on to win 30-24. The Trojans jumped out 4-0 in game two. The Falcons used two kills and two blocks by Lauren Spiotta to go on a 7-0 run to take a 13-7 lead. An ace and two kills by Petra Ljubicic helped the Falcons go ahead 19-11. Pfeiffer continued their great play and won game two 30-19. Game three was all Pfeiffer. The Falcons jumped to a 6-1 lead and never looked back. There was good serving and hitting by the whole team and the Falcons won game three 30-16. Petra Ljubicic and Lauren Elmore each had 10 kills for Pfeiffer. Morgan Liebert had 26 assists. Liebert and Ljubicic both had four aces. Sam Mitchell led the Trojans with 10 kills. Joanie Werling added 14 assists. Pfeiffer travels to Coker on Tuesday. The match will start at 7:00 pm. |
