Pfeiffer Defeats Mars Hill 1-0

Mars Hill, NC---The Pfeiffer women's soccer team picked up their first win of the season Friday afternoon with a 1-0 win over Mars Hill College, in their first game at the Mars Hill Invitational Tournament. The Falcons now stand at 1-2 on the season while Mars Hill falls to 1-3.

After 70 scoreless minutes of play, Kristen Bartsch scored on a breakaway to lift the Falcons past MHC 1-0. The game winning score was assisted by Angela Reale.

MHC out shot Pfeiffer 18-to-13. Claudia Cala made seven saves for MHC while Suzie Hinman had eight saves for the Falcons. Both keepers played the entire contest in the net.

Pfeiffer will play Carson-Newman Sunday at 1:00 pm in the second game of the Mars Hill Tournament for the Falcons.
