Misenheimer, NC---The Pfeiffer women's swimming team opened their home season with a dominating performance against Lenoir-Rhyne Friday evening. The Falcons won 10 of 11 events to win by a score of 154-48. Emily Belton won two events, the 50 and 100-yard freestyle. Pfeiffer started off strong winning the 200 yard Medley Relay. Pfeiffer won the next three freestyle races with Rachel Schmidt winning the 1000-yard, Hannah Fitzgibbons winning the 200-yard and Emily Belton won the 50-yard event. Lenoir-Rhyne won the 200-yard IM before the Falcons won the next six events. Lauren Tolbert beat tammate Meg Toncheff by .01 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly. Emily Belton won her second event on the evening by taking th 100-yard freestyle. Brittany Byrum won the 100-yard backstroke. Meg Toncheff came back to win the 500-yard freestyle. Alicia hillips won the 100-yard breaststroke before Pfeiffer ended the meet by winning the 200-yard freestyle relay. Pfeiffer will return to the pool tomorrow when they compete at the Boo Bash Invitational at Catawba College. |
