| Spartanburg, SC – The Converse Valkyries came back from a 36-34 defecit at halftime, to defeat the Falcons of Pfeiffer University 70-67 Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's basketball action. Pfeiffer is now 2-3 on the year. Domonique China and Lauren Brittingham led the Falcons in today’s contest. Both players recorded 19 points in the contest and combined for a total of six 3-point baskets. China also tallied 2 assists and 1 steal, while Brittingham recorded 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Leading the Valkyries in scoring was sophomore forward Ashley Arff. Arff recorded 15 points, 6 boards and 3 assists in this afternoon’s contest. Rebounding played a critical part in today’s competition and proved to be a key component in Converse’s come-from-behind win. The Falcons out rebounded Converse 21-15 in the first half with 12 of those rebounds coming on the offensive end of the floor. The Valkyries would limit Pfeiffer’s second chance points in the second half by out rebounding them 23-17. Pfeiffer travels to Catawba on Tuesday for a 7:00 pm game. |
