|Pfeiffer Loses 2-1 to Belmont-Abbey|

|Misenheimer, NC---The Pfeiffer men's soccer team lost to Belmont-Abbey 2-1 Saturday afternoon. Abbey scored two first half goals but the Falcons came back in the second with one goal and came close but couldn't tie the game up. Pfeiffer is now 6-5 on the season overall and 2-2 in the conference. Abbey is now 8-4 overall and 3-1 in the conference. |
Belmont-Abbey got on the board first in the 22nd minute. Christian Ocampo deflected in a Luis Arrieta corner kick to give the Crusaders a 1-0 lead.
Three minutes later Abbey doubled their lead on a Brian Souza goal.
Matt Harris came close to scoring for the Falcons but his shot was cleared off the goal line to keep the Crusaders up 2-0 at halftime.
Abbey came out in the second half playing defensively trying yo hold their lead. The Falcons finally broke through in the 77th minute when Davi Lorenzo scored with an assist by Nick Brindley.
Pfeiffer pushed hard the last ten minutes but were not able to tie the game up and lost 2-1.
Pfeiffer outshot Abbey 9-6 for the game.
Pfeiffr plays Wednesday at 7:00pm when they travel to Mt. Olive.
