Pfeiffer Loses to Anderson

ANDERSON, S.C. – Keana Boyd scored 28 points to lead No. 15 Anderson University to an 84-59 victory over Pfeiffer in a Conference Carolinas game Saturday afternoon. Anderson, 24-2 overall and 18-1 in the conference. The loss drops Pfeiffer to 10-15, 7-11.

Anderson took control of the game with a 20-4 run starting at the 14:05 mark of the first half.

Two free throws by Genia Holbrook gave Anderson its largest lead of the first half of 18 points – 43-25 – with 45 seconds remaining.

Anderson used a 14-1 run early in the second half to extend its lead to 61-34 with 10:37 remaining.

After Anderson’s lead reached 29 points – 75-46 – with 4:47 left, Pfeiffer got no closer than 24 points the rest of the way.

Pfeiffer was led by Ashelle Athill with 19 points. Kalee Smith chipped in 13, and Devona Knight added 12 for the Falcons.

Pfeiffer will play Belmont-Abbey at home on Tuesday night at 5:30 pm.
