Pfeiffer Loses to Shepherd

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. –Shepherd University defeated Pfeiffer University 97-72 in final day action of the Clarion Hotel Tip-Off Classic at Shepherd on Saturday.

Pfeiffer faced host Shepherd and lost 97-72, despite forcing 33 Shepherd turnovers. The Falcons were badly out rebounded 53-32. Robert McGriff again led the team in scoring with 17 points and added seven rebounds form the point guard spot. Logan Call had 14 points and six rebounds and Clyde Chapman had 11 points.

"We played some excellent competition and found out we have a great deal of work to do," said Pfeiffer coach Dave Davis. We have great kids and they are learning to work hard and play Pfeiffer basketball. We will improve."

Pfeiffer will next play Tuesday at 7:30pm when they travel to conference rival Mount Oive.

Robert McGriff had 36 points in the two games and was named to the All-Classic Team.
