| Pfeiffer Rallies Past Coker |

| Hartsville, SC- With just 6:45 left in the game Coker was leading Pfeiffer by 10 points in men’s collegiate basketball Monday night, but that lead did not last. The Falcons of Pfeiffer proceeded to go on a 15-0 run to take a 67-65 lead over Coker with just 3:22 remaining. The Cobras cut the lead to two with 0:21 left, but a Coker foul sent Quintel Maxwell to the free throw line, where he sank both shots and then a pair of foul shots by Logan Call with 0:10 left put the game out of the Cobras reach. In the end the Falcons won, 76-72, improving their record to 10-4 overall, and 6-2 in Conference Carolinas play. Coker falls to 5-11 overall, and 3-6 in the conference. The game was evenly matched throughout, while Coker held a slight lead in shooting percentage, 51.9 percent to 38.2 percent, Pfeiffer was unstoppable from the charity stripe, shooting 90.5 percent to Coker’s 76.9 percent. For Pfeiffer, Maxwell was a team leader with 20 points off the bench and three assists, while big man Call added 17 points and nine rebounds in the paint. Chris Woods was the only other Falcon in double figures with 11 points and six rebounds. Pfeiffer hosts Anderson Thursday at 7:30 pm. |
