Nine different Falcons scored as they got 23 points off 18 Crusader turnovers. Abbey scored the first 4 points of the game, for their only lead, but the Falcons immediately responded with an 11-0 run. Pfeiffer cooled off a bit in the second half but their pressure defense and strong play on the boards never let it get close. Abbey closed to 11 at the 13:18 mark but it was all Pfeiffer after that. The Falcons built their lead up to 28 at one point and won 96-71.
Thomas Carr and DeMario Grier each scored 18 points to lead Pfeiffer. Pfeiffer's post players contributed 27 points and 13 rebounds as Cooper had 15 and 7 and Logan Call went for 12 and 6. The Falcons out-rebounded Abbey for the game 45-35. Anthony Bell led Belmont with 22 points.
Coach Davis said,"Our pressure defense was tremendous all night. Great contributions came from 11 players and Thomas Carr shot well outside. Tavares Cooper played almost a perfect game leading the team in rebounds and shooting a perfect 5-5 from the floor."
For their next game Pfeiffer travels to Coker Sunday with a 4:00 pm tip-off.
