Volleyball Goes 1-1 on Day One of Tourney

Hickory, NC---The Pfeiffer volleyball team went 1-1 on the first day of the Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational Tournament. In their opening game Friday afternoon the Falcons fell to the host school, Lenoir-Rhyne, by a score of 3-1. The Falcons came back Friday night and defeated Fayetteville State 3-0.

Pfeiffer lost the first game to the Bears 30-9. The Falcons fought back and tied the match by wining game two 33-31. Game three was tight but the Bears pulled it out 31-29. Pfeiffer lost the fourth game 30-18.

Pfeiffer took down Fayetteville State in three straight games. Game one was close with the Falcons winning 30-25. The Falcons stepped it up and won the last two games 30-18 and 30-14.

The tournament continues tomorrow with matches against Wingate at 1:30 pm and Belmont-Abbey at 5:30 pm.
