FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASECoach Hawkins said, "This was a great meet with a several great swims for Pfeiffer, despite coming off 2 weeks of some of the heaviest training in Florida and at home. Our women's relays dominated and won both the medley and the freestyle events thanks to strong swims from all the girls. Joy Prim held on to a lead in the medley relay to bring the girls home first in the first medley event. Pfeiffer had strong swims in the breaststroke and backstroke events from Alicia Phillips and Freshman Brittany Byrum who both play lead roles in the medley relay for Pfeiffer this year. All the girls on the team are very strong and next years recruiting class will fill out the depth of the team and enable them to win meets. On the Men's side, Alphie Smith returned a season best to win the 100 fly and 500 free, Josh Jenkins swam his first ever 1,000 free and won, and David Haynes took a first in the 200 freestyle. David Angell won the 200 IM and also swam a strong 100 breast in a close race which will give him confidence for the 200 IM at the conference meet in 3 weeks. Angell, Haynes, Jenkins and Robert Johnson also returned a win in the 200 freestyle relay. "
