Eric Anderson enters his seventh season as the head coach of the men’s and women’s swimming teams at Pfeiffer. Anderson has brought the program and facility to new heights in his tenure.
At Pfeiffer, Anderson has coaches 22 National B Cut swimmers and coached the women’s team to an undefeated record in dual meets in 2012-13. He has also coached one athlete to the NCAA’s in 2010 and All-American. The team GPA has steadily risen and the men’s and women’s record books have been rewritten under Anderson’s tutelage. He also refurbished Merner Pool and transformed it into a top swimming facility. In 2013, he coached freshman Dima Turkin to a spot on the All-American team.
Anderson built the swimming program at Mallard Creek during the 2007-08 season. The new school had no swim program prior to Anderson but his effort organized the team for competition.
Eric also built the program at AL Brown from scratch and spent seven years there. He started the program and guided the team to the point where he placed swimmers in the top three of the state. Anderson started the team with just three swimmers but turned it into a team of 29-person roster by his last year. In those seven years, he sent 41 swimmers to qualify regionally and 11 to qualify statewide.
A graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, Anderson received a BA in Elementary Education before coming to North Carolina to teach in the Kannapolis City Schools. He and his wife Erin live with their son Aidan in Charlotte, NC.
