Athletic Director/VP for Athletics Bob Reasso '73 has announced the hiring of Chris Wood as the universities first Men's and Women's Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Head Coach. Wood will start the Pfeiffer program from scratch with the Falcons beginning competition in the 2014-15 season.
“We couldn’t be more excited to add Chris to our athletic department,” said Reasso. “It’s an exciting time for Pfeiffer as we add four sports and we are very happy to bring in a coach of Chris’ caliber to lead those programs. I had the pleasure of working with Chris at Husson University where he did a brilliant job of building both the Cross Country and Track programs.”
Wood most previously served ran the Track and Field and Cross Country programs for over two seasons at Husson University in Bangor, Maine. Under Reasso at Husson, Wood increased his roster size in his two years and was responsible for coaching jumps, javelin and sprints/hurdles. He also designed and implemented a comprehensive Sports Performance program for 18 athletic teams. He guided the women’s cross country team to the North Atlantic Conference Championship in 2011 and 2012 and was the Runner Up in 2013.
Prior to his time at Husson, Wood was the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator and Assistant Track and Field Coach at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA from 2007-2011. Wood oversaw the operations of the fitness center and created an online interface for student athletes to get exercise program information. He coached combined events, javelin, and jumps, while also teaching five courses.
Wood also spent time at LaSalle University as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. Wood spent 2003-2005 at Temple University where he was promoted from a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach to the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Olympic Sports.

This position is going to be great for many reasons. Among them is the new energy in the athletic department, the chance to share my talents with a University that has potential for real growth, and of course, the opportunity to start a program in a region that allows for year-round running."
Wood graduated from Temple with a Masters of Education and earned his Bachelor of Exercise Science from the University of Puget Sound. He has eight strength and conditioning certifications and was named the North Atlantic Conference Cross Country Coach of the Year in 2012. His duties will begin on January 2.
Jake KrolickAssistant Coach

Jake Krolick enters his first season at Pfeiffer as the Assistant Cross Country and Track coach.
Most recently, Krolick served in the same position at his alma mater Edinboro University for the 2013 season. At Edinboro, he planned fundraisers, observed budgets plans and did practice planning as well as recruiting. Edinboro’s men and women finished second in the 2013 PSAC Cross Country meet and each program finished in the top 15 in the Division II NCAA Nationals.
Krolick ran Cross Country for four years and competed for three seasons in Track and Field for the Fighting Scots. He was named to the All-PSAC and All-Atlantic region in 2011 and was a three-time Academic All-American. Krolick competed three times at the NCAA Division II Cross Country nationals and his highest finish was 72nd.
Following his time at Edinboro, he spent a season at Adams State in Colorado where he ran one season of track and field.
Krolick graduated with a 3.61 GPA with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Mathematics Education and worked on his master’s in Exercise Science at Adams St.
Natasha JanesGraduate Assistant Coach
Natasha Janes enters her first season with the Falcons.
Janes is a graduate from Campbellsville University where she earned a bachelor’s in Psychology and finished with a 3.5 grade point average. Following graduation, Janes attended Graduate School at the University of Louisville.
Athletically, Janes earned Academic All-Conference honors for Track and Cross Country from 2010-2013. She was part of the 2013 MSC Conference Champions and earned the Campbellsville Champions of Character Award.
In 2014, Janes worked with Fast Start Athletics where she planned and hosted events to help teach children about the sport of running. She also helped her college coach plan practices and organize recruiting visits from 2009-2011.
