Pfeiffer University Athletics and the Falcon Club, Pfeiffer athletics' booster organization, hosted the 2017 Keith Crisco Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, May 22 at the Old North State Club in New London, N.C. The foursome of Chris Costa, John Coyne, Scott Harvey and Jason Ofsanko came home with a first place finish at the tournament on a beautiful May afternoon and set a new tournament record with a score of 47.
Pfeiffer President Dr. Colleen Keith addressed the golfers before sending them off for a shotgun start on Golf Digest's #2 ranked course in all of North Carolina. Old North State is a private country club located along a 2 1/2 mile peninsula on Badin Lake. The course is a par 72 and totals 7,102 yards and has regularly hosted the ACC Championship.
The tournament, sponsored by AE Narrow Fabrics, is named to honor the late Keith Crisco '64, co-founder of AE Narrow Elastics, North Carolina Secretary of Commerce 2009-13, and former Pfeiffer trustee. In addition to 18 holes of golf on a course designed by award-winning golf course architect Tom Fazio, the day included a silent auction, $10,000 hole-in-one contest and other skills competitions. This tournament has become a May tradition for Pfeiffer University and is hosted annually.
The top three finishing teams were:
1) Chris Costa, John Coyne, Scott Harvey, Jason Ofsanko (47)
2) Jon Dyer, Tim Marburger, Chadd Marburger, Felix Miclat (53)
3) Paul Childress, Jeff Childress, Bobby Lutz, Benny Moss (57)
