    The first Division III class in history met last night inside Merner Gym as VP for Athletics Bob Reasso addressed all the student-athletes in preparation for the opening of the 2017-18 season. The gym bleachers were full as 21 teams packed the facility.

    MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The Pfeiffer University Athletic Department has announced that Terrence Baxter (basketball), Rick Blackwood (baseball), Eliot Campbell (tennis), Mike Downs (baseball/basketball), Shannon Reid (basketball) and the 2004 baseball team have been elected as the 2017 Sports Hall of Fame class. The new inductees will be honored at the Sports Hall of Fame Banquet on Saturday, September 23 in Merner Gymnasium and Pfeiffer will also be retiring the women’s basketball jersey of Hall of Famer Nancy Scoggins Janas that evening.

  • Athens Named Assistant Coach at Saint Francis

    MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Former women’s lacrosse standout and 2014 First Team All-American Katherine Athens has been hired as an assistant coach at Saint Francis, the program announced on Friday. Athens is Pfeiffer’s all-time leader in ground balls, caused turnovers and draw controls and earned back-to-back Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2013 and 2014.
  • Women's Soccer Announces 2017 Schedule

    MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The Pfeiffer women’s soccer team has announced its 2017 schedule as the Falcons embark on a new era in Division III and the USA South Athletic Conference. Pfeiffer will open DIII competition on Sept. 2 and the 17 game slate will feature some familiar foes.

Flaherty has plenty of knowledge of the Falcons as she joins the Pfeiffer family after six years as head coach at Conference Carolinas opponent Belmont Abbey College.

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Thanks to a record-breaking season, the Pfeiffer softball team ended the 2017 campaign ranked No. 18 in the nation in the final National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) poll. The Falcons broke program records for most wins in a season (46) and highest winning percentage (.852) under second year head coach Monte Sherrill.

    Pfeiffer University Athletics and the Falcon Club, Pfeiffer athletics’ booster organization, hosted the 2017 Keith Crisco Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, May 22 at the Old North State Club in New London, N.C. The foursome of Chris Costa, John Coyne, Scott Harvey and Jason Ofsanko came home with a first place finish at the tournament on a beautiful May afternoon and set a new tournament record with a score of 47.

    MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - A pair of Pfeiffer Falcons were named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Softball All-Southeast Region team on Monday afternoon. Freshman third basemen Makenzie Pennell and senior pitcher Sydney Poole earned Second Team All-Region honors.

    SAVANNAH, G.A. – Caitlin Christian was dominant in a complete game performance and left fielder Stephanie Fortner came up with the clutch go-ahead RBI single in the fifth inning as the No. 7-seeded Pfeiffer softball team (46-6) beat No. 6 seed Young Harris, 2-1, in the NCAA Tournament Regional Semifinals for its second upset win in as many days.

    SAVANNAH, GA - For the second straight season, the Pfeiffer softball team (45-6) defeated a higher-seeded opponent in its NCAA Tournament opener as the Falcons outlasted No. 2 seed Carson-Newman (43-12) by a score of 7-4 in nine innings on Thursday afternoon. Kiana Millsaps had four runs batted in, including the game-winning hit in the ninth inning as Pfeiffer ended a 21-game head-to-head losing streak against the Eagles.

  • Former Women's Lacrosse Teammates Square off in Big South Championship Game

    A pair of Pfeiffer women’s lacrosse alums will square off Sunday with a trip to the NCAA Tournament on the line as Campbell takes on High Point in the Big South Conference Tournament Championship game at noon. The game will air at noon and feature Lydnsey Boswell’s top-seeded High Point squad taking on Dawn Easley’s Campbell team and will be broadcast on ESPN3.

    BURLINGTON, N.C. - The Pfeiffer softball team’s quest for a second straight Conference Carolinas Tournament championship fell short as the Falcons (44-6) fell to North Greenville (35-17) in the tournament final. Amanda Coffrin pitched NGU to their first ever Conference Tournament Title with a complete game shutout in the Crusaders 4-0 victory.

    GREENSBORO, N.C. – Just three days removed from its shocking 9-2 upset over No. 1 nationally-ranked Mount Olive in day one of the Conference Carolinas tournament, the Pfeiffer baseball team (24-25) was victim of organized revenge, falling to the Trojans 16-2 in the semifinals on Sunday afternoon.
  • Pair of Walk Off Wins in Extra Innings Send Falcons on to Championship Game

    BURLINGTON, N.C. - A pair of extra inning walk offs kept the Pfeiffer softball teams’ hopes alive for a second straight Conference Carolinas Tournament title on a hot Saturday afternoon. The Falcons outlasted Lees-McRae 2-1 in 10 innings to start the day and then topped Limestone 5-4 in nine innings. Needing a third straight win on a 90 degree day, Pfeiffer beat Erskine 7-2 in the night cap and move on to tomorrow’s championship round to play North Greenville.
  • Five Women's Lacrosse Players Named to All-Conference Team

    MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Conference Carolinas announced its 2017 women’s lacrosse award winners on Saturday afternoon and included were five players from Pfeiffer University. Juniors Molly O’Friel and Josie Lent, and sophomore Ally Unkenholz were tabbed first-team All-Conference, while freshman Meagan Bourque and junior goalkeeper Emily James were honored as second-team representatives.
