Currier on Tappin – “Kenny was recommended to me from one of my former players that was a tireless worker, stating that Kenny was as driven as a young man that he had seen. He was correct. As a freshman, his season was cut short due to an injury – despite that injury; Kenny came in and worked every day to improve his game. In a short amount of time, he has become a tremendous floor leader for our program, and someone that I am looking forward to coaching this season.”
Tappin saw action in nine games as a freshman for the Falcons.
Tappin played at Bishop McNamara High School under head coach Marty Keithline. Tappin, a two year varsity player, averaged 6.7ppg. During his senior season, Bishop McNamara went 23-10, the best it has ever done in schools history. That year they won Florida National Shootout. Bishop McNamara appeared in the semi-finals of the conference championship in both 2009 and 2011.
Tappin graduated with Summa Cum Laude.
His parents are Ellen and Kenneth Tappin.
